"Feed My Starving Children"
Andie Wommack, a Genesee Alumni and current WSU student is participating in a service project as part of her education. The group she and her fellow students have chosen to volunteer their efforts for is an organization called FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN, which is a non-profit organization that provides meal assistance for underprivileged people through out the world. A donation of 17 cents will provide a meal, so all donations really count! There is a donation jar in the High School office, so please consider donating your loose change to this worthwhile cause.
GES Singers
GES singers will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m.
Genesee Baseball Association Meeting
There will be a parent information meeting for all those who have signed up for Genesee Recreational Baseball on Wednesday evening, March 10th in the multi purpose room of the school at 7:00 p.m. Please plan to attend.
Alumni Congrats!
Congratulations to one of our former students, Jeffrey Roy, who competed in the NAIA track meet championships in Johnson City, Tennessee and was 3rd in the nation in the 1000m meter run! Jeffrey is a junior at Eastern Oregon. Congratulations!!
Parent Portal
Within the last few weeks, each family in the district received a very informative, fairly large information packet with instructions for accessing and using the student records information system here at school. By accessing this system, parents can check students attendance, classroom activities, disciplinary record and lunch account balance. Parents of older students also have access to grades and assignments. This is a very valuable tool to help parents help their students to be successful at school, and to keep parents informed. *This is a secure site, and the information packet sent home has login information and passwords specific to parent and student. Although the packet may appear to be a bit overwhelming, it's simply because step-by-step instructions with pictures were included to aid parents in the initial set-up. The program itself -LUMEN - is very user friendly and parents who have accessed are really enjoying the convenience of checking student status from home! So if you haven't yet logged on, please set aside a little time and visit your parent portal - you'll be pleasantly surprised and glad you did!
