Bulletin last updated 11/30/09, 9:03 a.m.

Sharing Tree

Sharing Tree Tags for children in our community of Genesee are once again available for pick-up from the tree in the Palouse Mall. Tags for Genesee children are red and your help is really appreciated. The Sharing Tree Project helps provide Christmas items for families who may be experiencing tough financial times, and give them a hand up for basic items. Tags are made for a few piece of clothing, (shirt, pants, shoes), winter clothes if needed, and two fun items. Many children on The Sharing Tree are lacking in the basic necessities we all take for granted - such as a pair of shoes or boots.

We have a very generous community and your past kindness is appreciate. Please consider helping out the Sharing Tree again this year. Gifts can be returned to the wagon located outside of Ross at the Palouse Empire Mall. Please include the red tag with the gift - please do not wrap the gift. Thank you for Sharing!!

Genesee Elementary Singers

GES will meet Tuesday after school from 3:30 to 4:20 in the music room.

Ho, Ho, Ho! Holiday Food Bank Drive

With the holidays fast approaching, families are making plans for gathering and celebrating. Please help all our families have the ability to celebrate by donating food to our local food bank! Christmas baskets are prepared for families in our community - and the food bank needs our help to fill those baskets.

When you are shopping for the holidays, please include groceries for the food bank. Donations are gladly accepted anytime - there are boxes located in each elementary classroom and the office is willing to accept donations. Please send a non-perishable food item to school with your child - thank you!

Genesee Speed Zones

Staff and Students: As you may or may not be aware, here is a gentle reminder of speed zones within the City Limits. The School Zone on Walnut directly below the park in the front of the school is a 20 mph zone, not 25. Additionally, as you come through town, from Roaches Contruction to the corner of the Wendy Ann Apartments is now a 15 mph zone. Both zones are enforced, so please be cautious. We want to insure pedestrian safety, and save you a big traffic ticket as well. FYI!!
