SPARK Art has been canceled indefinitely. Please make sure students have arrangements on Fridays after school. Thank you.


Genesee Community Library Program


Genesee Library will host “Hot Shot- Fires Gone Wild” program at the library located at 140 East Walnut St., Genesee, Idaho on Friday, January 31 at 7:00 P.M. It is our Library’s Kick-off program to 2014’s reading theme “Spark a Reaction” and first Adult Winter Reading Program which runs from January 13 thru March 13. Guest programmer, Bridget Schwenne of  Mt. Taylor Hotshots, Cibola National Forest will provide an enthusiastic hour long (+) slide show and presentation of our nation’s Hotshots, who bring a high level of fitness and expertise to wildfire management. Bridget is a 2011 graduate of University of Idaho and 2007 graduate of Genesee High School. The Library will provide additional resources pertaining to the Hot Shots and Wildfire management during their regular open hours.


Love for the Littles


A fundraiser  is being held  at the Lewiston Communtiy Center from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 31. This fundraiser is sponsored by the Lewiston YWCA. Please come enjoy a  family friendly carnival with fun prizes and snacks for all. Admission is a donation of cash or baby items. We hope to see you there. 


Booster Club Potato Feed Fundraiser


The Genesee Bulldog Booster Club will have baked potatoes with all the fixings, Frito boats, grilled chili dogs, hot dogs and caramel apples for sale this Saturday at the Girls and Boys Basketball games. The Girls play Kamiah beginning at 1:00 followed by the Boys against Prairie. This is Senior night for both teams as well. Please come support the Booster Club and enjoy the exciting basketball action and some delicious food.  


Cheer Camp


Cheer camp for grades Kindergarten through 8th is February 15, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to Noon in the Main Gym. Cost for the camp is $15 before January 30 to the High School Office. Youth cheerleaders will receive a T-shirt on the day of camp and will learn routines to be performed when parents arrive. Eighth grade through 11th grade girls interested in cheering next year also need to attend the camp.

Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Basketball teams on their wins last night.

Good luck to the Girls and Boys Basketball teams who play at home tomorrow. The girls play Kamiah beginning at 1:00 followed by the Boys against Prairie scheduled to begin at 4:00. This will be Senior night for both boys and girls and the last home basketball games of the season.

Thank you Mary Kate for the awesome surprise in Mrs. Tilleman' s room! Go check it out everyone!

Congratulations to Calysta and Cassidy W. for being accepted to the All-State Choir. This select group of musicians will gather in April for a music conference and participate with students from all around the state. Congratulations Ladies!

Please plan to attend "The New Mrs. Porter" a one-act play written and directed by James Yockey a GHS Senior and performed by the 8th Grade Drama Class. The play will be presented tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-purpose room.

Please plan to attend "The New Mrs. Porter" a one-act play written and directed by James Yockey a GHS Senior and performed by the 8th Grade Drama Class. The play will be presented on Tuesday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-purpose room.


Parenting Class Opportunity


PARENTS: There are still spots available in the Love and Logic course. We will consider applicants who may need to miss a class. We may open the course to parents from other communities, if we are not able to fill the class within our community. A sheet with course information and an application/registration form will be sent home in the December 13th Friday folders for grades K-5.  Parents of older students may pick up a hard copy of the information sheet in the high school office.  You may request to have a form e-mailed to you by calling the high school office at 285-1162 or by e-mailing your request to Shelly Renton at srenton@sd282.org.

Ozzie Kanikkeberg Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser


Please plan to attend the Girls and Boys Basketball games tomorrow evening to support the teams and the Ozzie Kanikkeberg Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser. If you would like to help support the fundraiser, please bring a baked food sale item to the school any time after 3:00 p.m. or when you come to the games or just come and enjoy some delicious treats. Of course monetary donations will be accepted tomorrow evening as well. Or if you are unable to attend, but would like to donate, please send your monetary donation to Bill LaMunyan at 754 W. Shestnut St., Genesee, ID 83832. ALL donations received go directly to this scholarship and will be awarded to Genesee seniors.
