NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFIED TEACHERS
Congratulations to Mrs. Becky Pickard who achieved her National Board Certification status! Congrats as well to Mrs. Heidi Waisanen who also successfully advanced in her quest for the same. (It is a journey.) Also congratulations to Mrs. Meg Booth who also successfully completed re-certification for National Boards last month! Genesee Schools is very lucky to have a growing number of Nationally Board Certified teachers. This certification of teaching excellence is not easily achieved. Thank you to all of our teachers who worked to attain this status, and congratulations!
SHARING TREE
The Sharing Tree has moved! The Sharing Tree, sponsored by the Genesee Education Association, is now located by Starbucks and AT&T in the Palouse Empire Mall. Tags for children in our community will be placed on the tree throughout the holidays. Tags for children in our community are RED. Gifts can be returned, unwrapped(please), to the wagon in the mall or directly to Donna Wommack at the school. Thank you very much for your support of this valuable project!
Birthday Wishes
Happy Birthday to Hayden Woods who will turn 11 on Thanksgiving Day!
EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSURES
Genesee School District IS in session today. If you are new to our district, please be advised, that it takes a significant amount of snow, generally accompanied by drifting, to cause school to be canceled for weather. Our buses and drivers are well equipped and trained for the weather. Student safety is always the first priority, and if transportation is determined to be unsafe, classes will be canceled. In that event, school closure will be reported to local TV and radio stations, and when possible, a call out will be generated from the school to make each household aware. *Please keep in mind, that severe weather can often result in power outages (like Tuesday) and if that happens, it is not possible to generate the call out.
NEWSLETTER DEADLINE
The deadline for the Genesee School District Newsletter December Issue is Monday morning, November 29th at 8:00 a.m. Please send all items to Mr. Peter Crowley at pcrowley@sd282.org
