Early Release Day
Thursday, May 20th, is a regularly scheduled Early Release Day for Genesee Schools. Classes will dismiss at 1:25 p.m. and busses will run regular routes at that time. This is staff development and work time so students are asked to leave the building and premises immediately upon dismissal. *ALSO: Students, ALL after school arrangements need to be made before the Early Release Day. School phones will not be used to make last minute arrangements.

PTO will meet tonight in the multi at 7:00 p.m. LAST day to turn in Boxtops for the Boxtops for Education program is Friday, May 21st.
Final Newsletter
A final Newsletter for the 2009-2010 school year will be posted to the school district website, if there are enough items for the newsletter. If you have anything you would like to submit, please send it electronically to Mr. Peter Crowley by May 25th to pcrowley@sd282.org
KISS THE PIG STANDINGS
The Color Groups "Kiss the Pig" contest featuring our New High School Principal and our departing members of staff is well under way. Donations continue through May 26th. The staff member with the most donations will Kiss a Pig in front of the student body at an assembly on Wednesday. The donations will help to pay for shipping the books for the Morocco Book Project. Keep those donations coming and vote for your favorite Pig Kisser!!!
Library Closed
The Genesee School Library is closed today, Wednesday, May 19th. Sorry for the inconvenience. The Library will be open again tomorrow.
Drama Production
So . . . . What about THE MONEY IN UNCLE GEORGE'S SUITCASE? You'll want to find out as the Genesee High School Drama class presents this comedy for your entertainment! Live and on stage, Monday and Tuesday evenings, May 24th and 25th in the multi beginning at 7:00 p.m. This performance is FREE and the public is encouraged to attend! Hope to see you there!
JR/SR High School News
1.) The Genesee High School Softball Team is leaving for state competition tomorrow! There will be a send off for the team on the front lawn at 9:30 tomorrow morning. Staff, students and community members welcome!
2.) Petition forms for ASB Officers for the 2010-11 school year can be picked up from Mr. Caldwell in the office. Petitions are due completed by Friday, May 21st at 3:30 p.m. No late petitions will be accepted.
3.) Spring Awards Assembly will be held Monday, May 24th at 10:30 a.m. in the main gym. Award presentations will be followed by ASB Officer candidate speeches.
4.) CAPS and GOWNS have arrived!! Seniors - you may pick up your cap and gown once you bring a wallet sized senior portrait photo to the high school office for the wallboard. Once your cap and gown has been given to you, you are responsible for it. Please take it home promptly. The sun can cause fading if it is left in your car for several days . . . Additionally, you will want time to let the wrinkles hang out or to prepare it for graduation day. Thank you. *THE DUE DATE FOR YOUR PHOTOS WAS YESTERDAY!
5.) Reminder that Driver's Ed begins next Monday, May 24th right after school in Mr. Sams' room. Make sure you have purchased your learners permit!
6.) LIBRARY REMINDER: Ladies and Gentlemen, the Genesee School Library will close for inventory on May 21st. Please return ALL library materials ASAP. Remember you need to be cleared at the library in order to complete check-out for graduation or summer break. You are responsible for all items originally checked out in your name.
7.) High School Choir will meet this evening from 7:00-8:30pm--we need to prepare for Cabaret and Graduation--see you all there!
8.) THE FINAL SAFE AND SOBER GRADUATION MEETING will be held this evening, May 19th at 6:30 in Mrs. Sperber's Room. Hope to see EVERYONE there!!
9.) EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Temporary employment. Spring garden work and light housekeeping. A local senior citizen woman needs assistance getting her gardens in shape for the season and help with some spring house cleaning. If you are a High School Girl interested in this opportunity, please contact Vallie Messick at 285-1435.
