SHARING TREE UPDATE

We are in the final week of Sharing Tree Activity. There are still tags available from the tree in the Palouse Mall if you can help out. Additionally, there are tags available here in town from Mrs. Wommack at the school. Times have been tight economically for many in our area, and we certainly don't want anyone assuming an extra burden; but if you are able to assist with even one gift, it would greatly help the effort to provide needed winter clothing, and one or two small gift items to Genesee children on the Sharing Tree.

If shopping for an item is not convenient for you, monetary donations are always welcome.

Thank you to everyone who has taken a tag and supported this worthwhile cause. *Please remember ALL items need to be returned to the big sled by the Sharing Tree in the mall, or delivered here to school, no later than Wednesday, December 15th! The elves need time to wrap, and to assess the items that might still be missing. :-)

2.) High School Students: The Sharing Tree in the Palouse Mall could use a boost. Tags for children in Genesee are red. There are many, many items that even students can afford. Music Fundraiser Deliveries

Elementary Parents--there are still unclaimed Music Fundraiser orders? Please arrange a time to collect them, or send your 4th, 5th, or 6th grade student to pick it up. Thank you! Miss McMullin's contact information - Phone: (208) 285-1162 Ext. 207 e-mail: kmcmullin@sd282.org

*Please remember, the people who placed orders with you are expecting their items in a timely manner and may have ordered for Christmas. Those items need to be picked up and delivered ASAP. Thank you.

Emergency School Closures and Dressing for the Weather

For winter weather conditions resulting in a school closure or delay, the information will be broadcast on local radio and TV stations (KRPL, KVTY, KRLC, KMOK, KZFN, KOZE, KWSU, KATW, KHQ, KLEW, KXLY, KLEW, KHTR/KQQQ). Additionally, when possible (not during power failures) the school notification system will also be activated.

**We apologize for any inconvenience that may have occurred with the school notification system regarding yesterday morning's school closure. It is important for parents to please let the school know when and if you make changes to phone numbers. If you received a phone call and shouldn't have, it may be due to a service change on a particular number that was surrendered by a parent, and then reassigned. If you called about that instance, it has been changed and you should no longer receive notification. We apologize. If you did not receive a call, it could be that we do not have an accurate number on file for you. We are following up on those reported instances. If you received a call (came up on caller ID) but heard no message, please remember, the system will not deliver a message until a verbal response is recognized (ie "hello", or voice message if an answering machine is reached). Additionally, if your answering machine message is longer than 30 seconds, it is likely that your message machine truncated or did not receive the message.

The notification system completed delivery to all households in approximately 10 minutes, which is a very quick and efficient way to make as many people as possible personally aware. As with all automated situations, it is not perfect, but we hope you found the notification helpful as you made plans to begin the day. Again our apologies for any inconveniences or technical short comings that may have occurred.

Student safety is always a priority, but when possible, school will be in session. Please plan to be in attendance and to come dressed for the weather! Picture Retake Day

Picture retake day is today, November 29th. The photographer will be here at about 11:00 this morning. We will do an all call for students who missed the original picture day or who need to have photos retaken. Please remember that in order to have your photos retaken, you need to turn in your original photo packet stating the reason the photos are not acceptable. (ie: bad light, out of focus, eyes closed, etc.) Photos will not be retaken simply because you don't care for how you looked in the original photo.

**This photo day is also Winter Sports Team Picture Day. Team pictures will be taken after school. Although that was announced earlier, and coaches are aware, Shannon did not get photo packets to athletes prior to the break. My apologies. Athletes may pick up photo packets at the High School office today. You can have your photos taken today and turn in packets tomorrow and we will mail one large envelope to Interstate Studios. *PLEASE NOTE: Photo packets are due by lunch time TOMORROW.

EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSURES

In that event, school closure will be reported to local TV and radio stations, and when possible, a call out will be generated from the school to make each household aware. *Please keep in mind, that severe weather can often result in power outages (like Tuesday) and if that happens, it is not possible to generate the call out.
