Elementary Study Hall


This week is the last week for after school study hall. Please remind kids that Thursday, May 17 will be the last day this year for after school study hall.



Blood Drive


Genesee High School will sponsor a community blood drive Thursday, May 17 from 1:30-4:30. Look for the bus in front of the school and sign up on-line at www.inbcsaves.org, sponsor code GeneseeHS.



Book Fairs


Last book fair of the year coming soon! Buy One Get One Free. Stock up for summer!
Home Ec Room will have the k-6 Elementary fair. Mrs. Booth's Classroom off the commons will have Upper Grades fair. Friday May 18 - expect announcements and wish lists to come home with elementary students, and upper grade students who choose to fill one out. Fair will be open Friday May 18th, and Monday 21st - Fri 25th. Hours posted soon. Question of the day drawings will continue!

Seeking volulnteers for the Bookfairs! Contact Sherie Wright @ home 285 1108, by email breathe@palouse.net, or by text 208-310-9718. Thanks.  There are early morning, midday,
afternoon, and evening slots to choose from. Any amount of hours you can spare - 5/18 and 5/21-25. Sixth graders and Jr/Sr high school students are welcome to volunteer at either of the bookfairs. It could count as community service hours too.



Drama Class Presentation


What happens when a bus load of travelers, stranded in a blizzard, end up at a convent full of Mary’s, with a killer who only kills people named Mary?  Find out when the High School Drama class presents the play Murder Can Be Habit Forming on May 22nd and 23rd at 7 p.m. in the MPR. This murder-mystery comedy is for all audiences with a some scary moments.



Genesee Community Day Saturday, June 9, 2012


The Genesee Civic Association has opportunities for groups or organizations to fund raise on Community Day. Ideas that are available are as follows:
Bouncy House
Dunk Tank
Snow Cones (machine rental $45 from Hahn Rental)
Kids Carnival games
Walking Tacos or similar food items
Any event you can think of!
We also have events that we need volunteers to help with. Civic Association will be willing to make a donation to the group in exchange for their volunteering. Please contact Cathleen Blevins at cblevins@moscow.com or 208-596-9102 for more information or to volunteer. This year Community Day will be honoring the Genesee School District and the past and present administration, teachers and support staff. If anyone knows the contact information for past staff, we would appreciate getting that information so we can invite them. Please send information to cblevins@moscow.com. Thank you for your help!



Genesee Cow Creek Run


Registration forms are available in the HS office for this 2- or 5-mile walk/run held in conjunction with Genesee Community Day.



White Pine Basketball Camp


This camp is offered at Troy High School for kids entering third through ninth grades. It will be June 18-22, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. Registration forms are available in the HS office or online at www.whitepinebasketballcamp.weebly.com.



Junior High and High School News 


Student-fan prearranged forms for state baseball are in the office.

Safe and Sober Graduation Committee will meet tonight at 7:00 in the commons.

ASB Officer petition forms are in the office. This is for next year's ASB Officers. Criteria and process are listed on the form. If you have questions, please see Mr. Caldwell.

Calysta: you still owe $25 to the junior high girls basketball team for your sweats, please pay this to the HS office ASAP.

Color group food drive sponsored by Sam Hoffman. There will be food collection boxes in each color group classroom. Pink: Mrs. Bardwell, Blue: Mr. Barham, Black: Mr. Hanson, Green: Mrs. Sperber, Purple: Mrs. Tilleman, Red: Mr. Crowley and Yellow: Mr. Derting. The winner of the competition will receive a pizza party!
