Blood Drive


Genesee High School will sponsor a community blood drive Thursday, May 17 from 1:30-4:30. Look for the bus in front of the school and sign up on-line at www.inbcsaves.org, sponsor code GeneseeHS.



Genesee Elementary Family Arts Night: Thursday, May 10th at 6pm


This year we are trying a new format in place of our traditional spring concert.  We will hold a Family Arts Night instead!  This year’s focus is Mexican Culture. Your child will display their art, show off songs and rhythms they have learned, and demonstrate and teach you a few dances!  Please be sure to stay for the Family Sock-hop from 7:30-8:00pm!



Genesee Community Day 2012


The Genesee Civic Association has opportunities for groups or organizations to fund raise on Community Day. Ideas that are available are as follows:
Bouncy House
Dunk Tank
Snow Cones (machine rental $45 from Hahn Rental)
Kids Carnival games
Walking Tacos or similar food items
Any event you can think of!
We also have events that we need volunteers to help with. Civic Association will be willing to make a donation to the group in exchange for their volunteering. Please contact Cathleen Blevins at cblevins@moscow.com or 208-596-9102 for more information or to volunteer. This year Community Day will be honoring the Genesee School District and the past and present administration, teachers and support staff. White Pine Basketball Camp


This camp is offered at Troy High School for kids entering third through ninth grades. It will be June 18-22, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. Registration forms are available in the HS office or online at www.whitepinebasketballcamp.weebly.com.



Junior High and High School News 


Great effort by the softball team who was defeated by Prairie last night. Softball travels to Potlatch tonight for a game beginning at 5:00, good luck ladies.

Congratulations to the baseball team who defeated Highland last night. Good luck to the baseball team who travels to Troy for a game beginning at 4:45. The new field in Troy does not yet have seating, so if you plan to travel to the game, please remember a chair.

Prom pictures were delivered yesterday, please come to the office to pick them up if you ordered them.

Junior High and High School News 


Congratulations to yesterdays track participants, it was great to see some PR's! Results will be posted outside Mrs. Tilleman's room.

Good luck to the track participants who will compete in Lapwai today beginning at 3:00.

Good luck to the softball team who will take on Troy at Airport field tomorrow at 11:00. Softball has also been rescheduled to play Prairie on Monday beginning at 5:00 in Cottonwood. The game originally scheduled for Monday against Asotin has been cancelled.

The Genesee FFA banquet is tonight. Freshmen bring rolls, Sophomores bring salads, Juniors and Seniors bring a dessert. We will begin serving dinner promptly at 6:30.

Any event you can think of!
We also have events that we need volunteers to help with. Civic will be willing to make a donation to
the group in exchange for their volunteering.

Good luck to our track athletes who will be competing at the Kibbie Dome outdoor track tomorrow at the Latah County 1A meet beginning at 9:00 a.m. The bus will leave at 7:15.

Good luck to the softball team tomorrow as they take on Potlatch at Airport Park beginning at 10:00, bus time will be 8:30.

Good luck to the baseball team who take on Nezperce in a double header at home tomorrow at 10:00 and 12:00.

Voting for Prom King and Queen will be held today at lunch in the gym foyer. Guys if you are wondering what to wear, dress pants, dress shirt and a tie would be fine, a tux is not required. An out of town guest sign up sheet will be available in the high school office. Please sign your guests up by Friday afternoon at 3:00. Prom will begin at 9:00 and end at midnight this Saturday, April 28 at the Quality Inn in Clarkston. There will be no ticket pre sales, admission will be at the door for $7 per person and pop will be available for $2 per glass.

Krispy Kreme Fundraiser


Ryan Peck, Jason Borth, Dallan Pickard, Gavin Esser and Karli Bennett will be holding a Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser to help raise money to go to the Business Professionals of America National Conference in Chicago. A box of 12 donuts is $10. Please contact one of these students if you are interested in buying a box. Please make your check payable to the student, NOT Krispy Kreme. We will need all orders and money by Thursday, April 19. On Friday, April 20 we will be at the school from 5-7 p.m. so that you can pick up your order. If you are not able to pick them up then, we will also be at Eastside Marketplace in Moscow from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 21. We will not be able to deliver out of town. Krispy Kreme Fundraiser


Ryan Peck, Jason Borth, Dallan Pickard, Gavin Esser and Karli Bennett will be holding a Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser to help raise money to go to the Business Professionals of America National Conference in Chicago. A box of 12 donuts is $10. Please contact one of these students if you are interested in buying a box. Please make your check payable to the student, NOT Krispy Kreme. We will need all orders and money by Thursday, April 19. On Friday, April 20 we will be at the school from 5-7 p.m. so that you can pick up your order. If you are not able to pick them up then, we will also be at Eastside Marketplace in Moscow from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 21. We will not be able to deliver out of town. Elementary Softball


The deadline for junior (3rd-5th grade) softball team forms is this Wed April 11, cost is $55 each player and forms/$ can be given to Mikacia Bartosz or Regan Zenner at school.


Junior High and High School News


Great effort by the Softball and JV Baseball teams who were both defeated in Asotin last evening.

Good luck to the JH girls and boys basketball teams who travel to Troy this evening for games beginning at 4:30. Please release players and managers at 3:05 to leave at 3:15.

Good luck to the baseball team who take on Timberline in a double header at home this evening please releases players at 3:10 for games beginning at 4.

Good luck to the track participants who travel to Lapwai to compete today. Track releases at 1:50 to leave at 2:00.

Please come to the office to pick up a package: Karli, Payton, Kjersti, Sam Druffel, Hailey and Wyatt.

JH girls and boys basketball pictures are in! Please come to the office to pick them up.

There is still time to sign up for Drivers Training. Costs for this year will be $250 per student. Must be paid before students can start the class!

Safe & Sober Meeting for this Wednesday at the School at 7:00. All sold and unsold tickets need to be turned in!! Also we are having a special game committee meeting at Knechts tonight at 6:30.

Sam Hoffman will be hosting a schoolwide food drive for Genesee High School. Food collection boxes will be available in each color group classroom and the overall winner will receive a pizza party. Your participation is greatly appreciated!

The Booster Poster Photos for Softball and Baseball will be taken April 16 right after school. Inter-State studios will be here after school April 18 to take spring sports photos. Order packets will be sent home with players soon.

Attention 6th-8th grade girls: if you are interested in playing softball this spring, please contact Shawn O'Connell at 285-1174 or Ryan Banks at 285-1205. Also, there are forms available in the HS office. Forms need to be turned in before this Friday, April 13.

Don't forget to bring canned foods and old clothing for the Lewiston homeless shelter. The collection box is in the gym foyer. Thanks, Brianna Nelson.

Distinguished Young Women Program


Congratulations to all the participants of the DYW program who did an excellent job! Karli Bennett was named the 2013 Distinguished Young Woman to represent Genesee and Payton Parkins was chosen 1st Alternate.
