Bulletin - 1/13/10

Bulletin last updated 1/13/10, 9:05 a.m.

Early Release Day

Tomorrow, January 14th will be a regularly scheduled Early Release Day for Genesee Schools. Classes will dismiss at 1:25 p.m. and busses will run regular routes at that time.

News From Latah County Human Rights Task Force

Congratulations to Hannah Cartwright whose essay for Human Rights Day addressing the subject of "What Can We Do?" was selected as winner of the essay contest! Hannah and her family will be honored at a breakfast in Moscow on Saturday morning and Hannah will also receive a $25 gift certificate to Book People. Congrats to Hannah!

Lost and Found Items

Please check out the lost and found items along the wall outside the multi. If any of the items belong to you, claim them now or forever be without. All unclaimed items will be removed on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Extra Clothing

It is a very good idea for elementary students to have spare clothing either at school or in their backpacks during this rainy, muddy weather in case clothing becomes wet during recess. A simple pair of sweats, socks and perhaps undergarment, stored in a gallon zip lock bag will store nicely in the bottom of a back pack, or neatly in a classroom cubby or locker space . . . and save that panic call home for dry clothing! FYI.

Newsletter Deadline

The deadline for the February Newsletter is 8:30 a.m. on Monday, January 25th. Please send all submissions electronically to Mr. Peter Crowley at the following email address: pcrowley@sd282.org

Sharing Tree

Thank you very much to everyone who supported the Sharing Tree Project by purchasing a gift, donating money, shopping, or wrapping presents. This year the Sharing Tree supported 18 families - 42 children in our community! This is a very special project that benefits a great number of children, and it is humbling to see the magnitude of the support of our community for this wonderful program. The Sharing Tree was able to provide clothes, winter clothing, and a few fun items to each child. In a year when many families are struggling, your help and support is greatly appreciated.

H1N1 Flu Clinic

December 8th is the follow up flu clinic for Genesee Schools. If you are under 10 years of age and received the flu vaccine here at school, Public Health will be back on Tuesday, December 8th to administer the second dose of the vaccine. We have those records here at school and will insure that those students who received the first dose, receive the second. (Obviously if students are absent for the second dose, it will become the responsibility of the parents to seek that dose through Public Health.) ADDITIONALLY, for students who are age 10 or over, you may receive the H1N1 vaccine on December 8th as well. Information and parent permission will be sent home with all students. Please be watching for that information.
