Bulletin - 12/02/09

Bulletin last updated 12/02/09, 9:13 a.m.

Early Release Day - December 3rd!

H1N1 Flu Clinic

December 8th is the follow up flu clinic for Genesee Schools. If you are under 10 years of age and received the flu vaccine here at school, Public Health will be back on Tuesday, December 8th to administer the second dose of the vaccine. We have those records here at school and will insure that those students who received the first dose, receive the second. (Obviously if students are absent for the second dose, it will become the responsibility of the parents to seek that dose through Public Health.) ADDITIONALLY, for students who are age 10 or over, you may receive the H1N1 vaccine on December 8th as well. Information and parent permission will be sent home with all students. Please be watching for that information.

Genesee Civic Association Lighted Parade

Just a reminder: The Genesee Civic Association will once again be sponsoring a lighted parade for the holiday season. It will be held this Sunday, December 6th. All parade entries are welcome and eligible for cash prizes!! There is an additional cash prize of $75 available to the winning entry from Genesee Schools! So if you are interested, get your parade entry together and meet in the parking lot of PNW on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. for parade line up. The parade will begin at approximately 3:30. The community is encouraged to attend!

Volunteers Needed

The Civic Association could use 5 - 8 volunteers to assist at the craft tables for the community celebration after the Lighted Parade on Sunday. If you are interested and available please call Cathleen Blevins at 208-596-9102.

Sharing Tree

Sharing Tree Tags for children from our Genesee Community are available for pick-up from the tree outside Ross in the Palouse Mall. Thank you to everyone who has already picked up tags and returned items. Your generous acts of kindness are greatly appreciated!! There are still plenty of tags to satisfy, so there's still time to help out if you choose. Please do not wrap items purchased, but please do return the red tag with the item. Again, your help is needed and appreciated!

Elementary Winter Concerts

The Kindergarten-3rd Grade concert is Monday, December 7th at 7:00pm and the 4th-6th Grade concert is Tuesday, December 8th also at 7:00pm. We hope to see you there!

Ho, Ho, Ho! Holiday Food Bank Drive

With the holidays fast approaching, families are making plans for gathering and celebrating. Please help all our families have the ability to celebrate by donating food to our local food bank! Christmas baskets are prepared for families in our community - and the food bank needs our help to fill those baskets.

When you are shopping for the holidays, please include groceries for the food bank. Donations are gladly accepted anytime - there are boxes located in each elementary classroom and the office is willing to accept donations. Please send a non-perishable food item to school with your child - thank you!
