GES Singers
REMINDER: GES singers will meet on WEDNESDAY, January 19th, from 3:20 to 4:20. NOT ON TUESDAY THIS WEEK.
FREE Theater Performance
Come see the second half of the 8th grade class perform on Wednesday, January 19th at 7:00 in the MPR. The play, a unique look at acting, is called "We're Not Making This Play Up As We Go--Honest! You are guaranteed to laugh!
Human Rights Day
Genesee School District IS in session today for Human Rights Day. We will be celebrating with a day "of" rather than a day "off". Classroom and group activities are planned throughout the day, at all grade levels, in remembrance of the importance of this day.
For Your Planning Purposes
Thursday is the last day of the Semester for Genesee Schools. There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday (January 21) as staff processes grades and prepares for the new semester. *There is also NO SCHOOL on Monday (January 24th), as this is a District Furlough (non paid) day for all staff and school will be closed.
JR/SR High School News
1.) Congratulations to the boys basketball teams who both claimed victory over Timberline here at home on Saturday!
2.) Nice work to the Lady Bulldogs as well, although they fell short of victory.
3.) Good Luck to the Girls Basketball team who will play Colton here at home tonight beginning at 7:00 p.m.
4.) WINTER BALL is scheduled for Friday evening, January 28th from 9:00 p.m. to midnight in the High School Commons. The cost is $6 each if pre-paid, and $8 at the door. You can pay Shannon or Becky in the High School Office and your name will be added to the pre-paid list. The deadline for pre-payment is end of day on Wednesday, January 26th. *That is also the deadline to sign-up all non GHS High School Student guests.
5.) STUDENTS: Please remember, for this afternoon's Human Rights Day Activities, ALL students must report to their 5th hour classes for attendance, prior to the activities.
6.) TOMORROW will begin Semester Finals for Genesee Jr/Sr High. **Please remember, we will be having an adjusted class schedule HOWEVER, each morning needs to begin with students reporting to first hour for attendance and lunch count. Thank you.
7.) FINALS SCHEDULE:
TUESDAY, 1/18: 1 hour final from 8:00 to 9:25. 2nd hour final from 9:30 to 10:55. 4th hour from 11:00 to 11:55. LUNCH from 11:55 to 12:25. 5th, 6th and 7th hours on a regular schedule for review.
WEDNESDAY, 1/19: 5th hour final from 8:00 to 9:25. 6th hour final from 9:30 to 10:55. 3rd hour review from 11:00 to 11:55. LUNCH from 11:55 to 12:25. 1st, 4th and 7th hours meeting on a regular afternoon class break schedule for review and semester wrap up.
THURSDAY, 1/20: 3rd hour final from 8:00 to 9:25. 4th hour final from 9:30 to 10:55. 6th hour semester check out from 11:00 to 11:55. LUNCH 11:55 to 12:25. 7th hour final from 12:25 to 2:00. 5th hour check out from 2:05 to 2:25. 2:25 begins end of semester group activities as pre-determined.
