GES

The first GES practice of the year will be today after school from 3:20-4:20 in the music room for any interested 3rd-6th grade students.

Music Fundraiser Items

Elementary Fundraiser items and prizes are available to pick-up!  4th-6th grade students can come collect their own items (and their younger sibling's items), 1st-3rd grade students should come with a parent or older sibling.

Book Fair

The first Book Fair of the year will begin tomorrow in the multi-purpose room! Watch for more information and hours.

Clothing Exchange

Everyone is welcome to come drop, swap or shop for free clothing items! Get rid of what you can't use and take home something you can. The Clothing Exchange will be held at the school on Thursday, November 7 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, November 8 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Seniors and their parents:
A Financial Aid Information Workshop will be held at Genesee School this Wednesday, November 6th.  The session will include information about federal financial aid programs and how to prepare to apply for them, presented by a college financial aid advisor.  Mr Scripter will also present information on several topics related to applying for national and regional scholarships, our local scholarship program and dual credit opportunities for Genesee seniors available this spring semester.  The workshop will take place in the
multi-purpose room from 6:30-8:00pm.

Secondary parents please contact your child(ren)'s teachers to make appointments for parent teacher conferences. Teachers will be available Thursday, November 7 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on  Friday, November 8.

Give Back Day will be Thursday, November 7 from 12:30-3:00.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Genesee High School Volleyball team on their State Championship win on Saturday!!! We are proud of you! There will be a Pep Assembly for the team at 3:00 today in the gym.

Congratulations to the Football team who defeated Clearwater Valley Friday night.

Virginia Monk is selling famous 4-H enchiladas as a fundraiser for her 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus project. She is making them with her group on October 26 and will deliver them that weekend. NEW! There are 2 flavors to choose from: Traditional Beef or Creamy Chicken. A large tray is $15 and a small tray is $10.    The enchiladas freeze well and will make a yummy dinner this fall or winter!You can place your order with Virginia or by emailing her at kmonk@pea-lentil.com or by calling 208-596-7755

Varnish Volleyball

Theme: “Super Bulldog Spirit”
We are encouraging all 7-12 students to become actively involved in their school spirit by attending the VB  games our teams play in, participating in the dress up days, decorating your class hall and the Homecoming Football game. We want HS students to attend the Homecoming Dance too. Not only should this be a fun time to bond with your classmates, but show great support for your school and develop some great school spirit. This a fun week, but an important week in school sports.This year classes will earn “spirit” points by attending games, decorating their hall, participation in the dress-up days, and minute-to-win-it games. The team with the most points will earn a special award that they will receive after the Homecoming week is over. The breakdown of points will be as follows:
Game attendance—1 point per class member present for the game or match. Mr. C will count students or designate another staff member to do so. Games of attendance will be: VB vs Lapwai, VB vs Colton, and the Homecoming game itself. Dress up days—1 point per student appropriately dressed for the day’s theme. Additional points may be awarded to students who really capture the spirit! Pep Rally participation and class games. Classes will earn points for each of these activities at the pep rally. Hallway Decorations—classes will be awarded points for their decorative efforts in relationship to the Spirit theme. Mr. Caldwell will announce the winning class at halftime of the Homecoming game.

3. Front to back dancing will not be allowed. Violations will result in being removed from the dance.
Cost: $5 per person
9:00 pm-Midnight

Out of Town Guests:
One out of town guest per person. You are responsible for your guest and their behavior. A sign-up sheet will be in the office window. All guests must be signed up by 4:00 pm Thursday, Oct. 10.

Congratulations to the JH Football team who defeated Potlatch last Thursday evening.

Great effort by the Volleyball teams who were defeated by Prairie in Cottonwood last Thursday.

Corn Maze Cancelled

The Clearwater Corn Maze has been cancelled for the year. Please talk to Mr. Morrow regarding FFA Alumni Activities.

The new Whitepine League website is up and running! League records, schedules and scores are available and can be accessed at whitepineleague.com. Look for a link on the Genesee School District website sports page. 

Jr. High/High School News  

Good effort by the JV Football team who played well, but lost to Lapwai last night.

Good luck to the Volleyball teams as they travel to Troy tonight for Dig Pink action beginning with the C team at 5:00.

For students interested in riding the Activity Bus to the Dig Pink game in Troy tonight, the sign-up sheet is in the HS Office. The bus will leave at 6:30.
