Library Book Return Date


Please return all books to the school library by Friday, May 24th.  Books may be placed in the library return slot or secondary students may hand-deliver them to Mrs. Booth in her classroom.


Genesee Cow Creek Run


Registration forms are available in the HS Office or at www.geneseecivicassoc.org. The run begins at 8:30 a.m.on Saturday, June 8 and forms are due for early registration prices by May 22. Forms can be turned in at city hall or mailed to Cow Creek Run, Nyla Roach, 234 E. Walnut St., Genesee, ID 83832.


Community Day 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament


Register early for the Genesee 3 on 3 Community Day Basketball Tournament and save money!  Get your team of 3 to 4 players together and get a registration form from Mr. Crowley.  Registration is open to all ages, male teams, female teams, and co-eds.


Graffiti At The Library?!

Here’s an opportunity for Genesee youth to express themselves and create some artwork for everyone
to walk on and enjoy during Community Day. Anyone presently in grades 5 and up interested in creating
graffiti relating to our summer reading theme of “Dig Deep” and “Beneath the Surface” come sign up
and begin creating your graffiti block at the Genesee Library during Summer Reading sign-up week
beginning June 3. Sidewalk-chalk-Graffiti must be completed by Noon on Thursday June 6. “Keep it
clean” as all ages will be able to see the finished project. If you need ideas, contact Jennifer Hayne or
the Library. (In case of inclement weather, library will provide paper/markers for “graffiti” to be done inside. Artwork will be showcased inside the library during Community Day book sale.)


Junior High and High School News  


Mary Kate Myers will have yummy baked goods for sale to help raise money for her Relay for Life team today at lunchtime for secondary students and staff.
Come join the High School Drama students for their production of Dracelstein. It is a fun comedy for all ages. The play begins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Hope to see you there!

Junior High and High School News  


Congratulations to the Softball team on their victories over the weekend at the 1A State Softball Tournament. The Bulldogs claimed the Championship Title. We are proud of you!!

Reggie Tilleman and Tyler Young medaled in both of their events at the State Track Meet!! Reggie was 4th in the shot put and 6th in the discus and Tyler was 4th in the 200 meter dash and 6th in the 100 meter dash. Congratulations to Reggie and Tyler.

Taylor, Raechel, Tia and James: please stop by the HS office today.

This week will be the last week for the elementary after school study hall for this school year.


PTO Book Exchange


Please join PTO for a school-wide book exchange.  We will be collecting books during the week of May 13-16th.  There are boxes outside elementary classrooms and by the office. The books will be sorted and all students will be given an opportunity to select books to keep.  If you have any questions, please contact Kelley Porter at 208.310.6602 or by email kapandkade@hotmail.com.  Please note we are only collecting books for students k-12, we will not be exchanging adult books.  Any remaining books will be donated to the Friends of the Genesee City Library.

Congratulations to Evyn who is the District 3 all around Jr. High cowgirl for the 2012-13 season.  She will be competing in the state finals at Filer, ID starting May 30 to qualify for Nationals in Gallop, NM. 

Good luck to the softball team who will be playing Friday at noon and 3:00 p.m. at Airport Park in the state tournament.  Saturday's game time will be determined after Friday's games.

Eighth Grade Students and Parents: Four Year Plan workshop for all eighth grade students and their parents.  tonight in the multi-purpose room, 7:00-8:00 p.m.. All students are required to have a four year plan in their academic records file by the end of their eighth grade year, so please make every effort to attend.

GENESEE ELEMENTARY FAMILY ART NIGHT: TUESDAY, MAY 14TH AT 6:30pm

It's time for another Family Arts Night!  This year's focus is African Culture.  We'll begin with a concert to show off songs and rhythms and to demonstrate a few dances.  Please be sure to stay for the Family Sock-Hop from 7:30 - 8:00pm and to check out our artwork.

Genesee Elementary Family Arts Night: Tuesday, May 14th at 6:30pm*

FFA flower and veggie plant sale. If you would like to buy greenhouse plants before the mothers day sale on the 11th please talk to Mr. Morrow. We have veggie plants and flowers ready to go early. Geraniums (4 colors) , pansy, moss rose, gazania, marigold, petunia baskets, mixed flower baskets.

PTO Book Exchange


Please join PTO for a school-wide book exchange.  We will be collecting books during the week of May 13-16th.  There are boxes outside elementary classrooms and by the office. The books will be sorted and all students will be given an opportunity to select books to keep.  If you have any questions, please contact Kelley Porter at 208.310.6602 or by email kapandkade@hotmail.com.  Please note we are only collecting books for students k-12, we will not be exchanging adult books.  Any remaining books will be donated to the Friends of the Genesee City Library. 


Genesee Cow Creek Run


Registration forms are available in the HS Office. The run begins at 8:30 a.m.on Saturday, June 8 and forms are due for early registration prices by May 22.

Congratulations to the Softball team who defeated Potlatch last night in the opening game of the District tournament. Genesee will next take on Prairie at 5:30 tonight at Airport field. Good luck Bulldogs!

Last day to purchase prom pictures is Tuesday, May 14. It's a great deal, $5 for 116 pictures! Please pay in the HS office.

Eighth Grade Students and Parents: Four Year Plan workshop for all eighth grade students and their parents.  Thursday, May 16th in the multi-purpose room, 7:00-8:00pm. All students are required to have a four year plan in their academic records file by the end of their eighth grade year, so please make every effort to attend.

Please help support a great charity by participating in the TSWGO Read-A-Thon. TSWGO gives money to families who have children going through cancer treatments. Talk to James Yockey for more information.

FFA Plant Sale


FFA flower and veggie plant sale. If you would like to buy greenhouse plants before the mothers day sale on the 11th please talk to Mr. Morrow. We have veggie plants and flowers ready to go early. Geraniums (4 colors) , pansy, moss rose, gazania, marigold, petunia baskets, mixed flower baskets.

Food Drive


The Genesee Cub Scouts will be going door-to-door this Saturday, May 4 beginning at 9:00 a.m. to collect food for the Genesee Food Bank.

There will be a blood drive held at the school Tuesday, May 14 from 1:00 - 4:15 p.m. The online sign up is open at www.inbcsaves.org or you can sign up in the HS Office the week before the drive.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of Jt. School District no. 282, Latah and Nez
Perce Counties, pursuant to Section 33-601, Idaho Code, as amended, has determined that it is in
the best interest of said school district to sell the property as identified below.
Description of property to be sold is as follows:

Lexan Greenhouse:
6’x16’ 4 mil.
new electric vent fan (value $50)
treated timber base
cedar plank benches and smaller wood benches
2 vent windows
aluminum frame

Said property will be sold (by sealed bids only) for not less than $300.00 to the highest bidder.
Sealed bids: A cashiers check or money order for 100% of the bid must accompany the bid and
the unsuccessful bidders will have their checks or money orders returned immediately after the
sale.
Sealed bids will be opened at 1:00 P.M. on May 8th, 2013 at the District Office, 330 W Ash St.,

3 on 3 Tournament


There will be a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Saturday June 15th in Moscow at the UI campus for 4th through 8th grade boys and girls.  Entry fee is $70 and includes a t-shirt plus another shirt for champions.  Visit the website www.moscowbball.org for more information and registration.
