School is Out for Summer!!

Genesee Schools dismissed for summer break after classes on Friday, June 3rd. Classes will resume on August 31st for the 2011-12 School Year. The School Office will not re-open until August 15th. *Other than for scheduled vacations, the District Office remains open through out the summer and can be reached at 285-1161.

Registration Information

**REMINDER: If you are new to the Genesee Community, and plan to attend Genesee Schools in the fall, please remember to register. In order to register for school, you will need:
1.) A completed Genesee School Emergency Care and Registration form, available in either the District or School Offices, or at this website.
2.) A copy of your child's immunization record
3.) A copy of your child's State Certified Copy Birth Certificate. (Please note, the birth certificate from the hospital with the little footprints on it, is not the state certified copy.) If you do not have a legal copy of your child's birth certificate, one can be obtained from the Bureau of Vital Statistics for the state in which your child was born. **Please note that presenting a child's birth certificate prior to registering for school is not a district requirement, but is Idaho State Law and required in order to enroll.

*KINDERGARTEN and PRE-SCHOOL age students. If you have not yet registered, PLEASE do so ASAP. Please do not plan to wait until August to enroll, as it is important for the district to prepare for total enrollments. This includes Kindergarten students who also plan to take advantage of the afternoon pre-school program. Please make us aware. Thanks!

JR/SR High School News

1.) Reminder to students who owe for fees or fines that were not satisfied at check-out. Those items will need to be paid before you can finalize classes at fall final registration.

2.) STUDENT/PARENT Portals for Lumen Student Information System. FYI your final grades for second semester 2010-11 will be viewable and printable from the Lumen Portal until July 7th. *If you need a copy of your grades for insurance purposes, application for summer programs, or jobs, you may print until that time. On July 8th, the 2011-12 school year will become active, and 2010-11 information will no longer be available. At that time however, you will be able to review your class schedule for the upcoming school year. Please keep in mind that every effort was made to accommodate class requests based on first choice indicators. In the event your first choice was not available, your second choice was selected. If you are without a class for a particular period, then you have a scheduling issue that will need to be resolved at final registration. *At this point the option for Spanish I has not been determined, but should be resolved prior to final registration.

3.) Athletes for the 2011-12 school year please remember you will need to have a current physical on file in order to participate in sports. Cheer, Volleyball and Football will begin practices the second week of August so please make sure you have a current physical prior to that time or you will not be allowed to participate. Additional information regarding physicals is listed in the top portion of this bulletin.

4.)FINAL REGISTRATION for 2011-12: For your planning purposes, the dates for fall registration have been set for August 23rd and 24th, 2011. Exact times have not yet been determined, but as is customary, the older grade levels will register first. It is safe to assume that all Jr. High will register on the 24th.
