Genesee Tball and Pitching Machine Team Information


It’s time for Tball and pitching machine registration in Genesee! Last year we had enough players to form 4 small Tball and 3 small pitching machine teams! Please fill out the form, attach $15 for each Tball and $25 for each pitching machine player and get them to Makenzie Stout in 4th grade BEFORE May 10. Season will run June and July and all games and practices will be held here in Genesee! Volunteer coaches are needed!! Questions? email Tammy at dtstout@frontier.com




FFA Flower Sale


The annual FFA Flower Sale will be held May 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Genesee High School Ag. Shop. We currently have bare root strawberry plants for sale for $0.25 each until they are gone. Contact JR Morrow for more information.


Book Fair Information


The online book fair is up and running right now through Tuesday May 19. Orders should arrive at school by June 2.  Did you know you can  make an online wish list for your student that friends and family may shop from, and the books will ship directly to the school for free? Genesee Cow Creek Run


All forms for the annual Community Day Cow Creek Run are available in the High School Office. Community Day is Saturday, June 13 and the run begins at 8:00 a.m. You can choose a 2 mile run or a 5 mile run. There is a relay option for ages 13-18, if you would like to get a team together for the race. The early registration deadline is May 22. Shirts are available, but only to those who register early.

 

Jr. High/High School News


Congratulations to the Softball and Baseball teams on their first place finishes in league play! Both teams now head into District tournament play in Orofino. The baseball team plays at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Orofino High School. The Softball team begins tournament action at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Orofino Elementary School. Tournament brackets can be found on the school district web sight.  Good luck Bulldogs!
 
The District I and II Regional Track Meet is this Friday, May 8 and Saturday May 9 in Lapwai. Friday's meet begins at 1:00 p.m. and Saturday's meet begins at 10:00 a.m. Good luck Bulldogs!

Spring State Testing


Parents of students in grades 3-11:  The schedule for spring standardized State testing has been posted on the school district website under "Notices & Alerts" at: www.sd282.org.  Please check it periodically and we would appreciate it if you would please make every effort to have your student well rested and in attendance on days they are scheduled for assessment.  Thank you for your assistance.

Secondary Students:  PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHARGE YOUR YOGA EVERY NIGHT.  This is important every day, but for those of you in grades 7-10 taking ISAT tests on your Yogas, it is critical that your device is fully charged for your testing sessions.  Also feel free to bring your own ear buds or headphones to use during the tests if you would like. 

Good luck to the Softball Team as they take on Prairie tonight at 5:30 at Airport #2.

Spring Sports Athletes: if you did not pick up your pictures on Friday, please get them today in the office.

The FFA Banquet is tonight in the multi-purpose room beginning at 6:00. 


Genesee History Presentation


Earl Bennett, City Historian will present a talk titled: The History of Genesee (Part 2): 1888 Until Today (with a special section on our schools) this Saturday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Genesee Senior Center located at 140 E. Walnut St. This presentation is sponsored by the Genesee Civic Association and admission is free!

Wellness Week
For Beau Tilleman’s Senior Project, we will be having a week-long activity challenge as well as wellness presentations from the sophomore class. You will be released from classes according to the following schedule:
Friday May 1st: 4th Hour
    10th, 11th, and 12th: Report to Aux Gym at 11:00
    7th, 8th, and 9th: Report to Aux Gym at 11:30  


Seniors: please get your senior pictures for the yearbook sent to Mr. Barham today. Thank you!

Coach McIntosh will be here today during Activity Period to meet with girls in grades 6-11 who are interested in summer league basketball.

Coach Boyd will be here today during Activity Period to meet with boys in grades 8-11 who are interested in summer league basketball. 

Good luck to the Baseball Team who play at Troy tomorrow beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the Varsity game followed by the JV game. The bus will leave at 9:00 a.m.

Reminder to Driver's Ed students that class begins on Monday, May 4th at 6:30 AM in Mr. Sams' classroom. You must have purchased your Driving Permit by that time. The licensing agency in not open on the weekend.

Volleyball players: We still need a couple of people each night (June 11, June 18, June 25 and July 2) in order to make the LCSC Summer League happen.  If you are interested, please get your money to Coach Crowley ASAP ($6 per night or a max of $20 for all four).
