The
last day for the elementary after school study hall for this school year will be this Thursday,
May 22.

The Genesee American Legion Firing Squad will fire at the following locations/times on Memorial Day Monday, May 26:

The last day of school for Genesee students will be early release at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4.

Running Maudie's diner, Bernard (Nick Parker) searches for his adopted
daughter with celestial help (Mattie Pickard). You will enjoy as senior
Clancy Clawson woos James Yockey and seniors (Sam Moser and Taylor
Kelnhofer) become truly senior characters. See Mary Kate Myers assume
the leather-wearing big mama who wants her daughter Kamri Sams to be a
star.
Open House
Please join us for the Senior Project Open
House on Tuesday, May 27 from 2:30 to 3:45. This year’s Senior Class
has created an amazing array of projects so don’t miss your opportunity
to see all of the projects and ask questions. Everyone in the school and
community is invited!
Community Day 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
Anyone interested in playing in the Community Day 3 on 3 Basketball
Tournament, please stop by Mr. Crowley’s room or the office to get a
sign up sheet. Discounted registration before June 1!

Book Donations Accepted
Spring cleaning? No more room
on those bookshelves? Friends of the Genesee Library are accepting
donations for the Community Day Book Sale. Drop off donations at the
library during regular hours: M & W 1pm-7pm, and Thurs 10am -4pm.
Please, no water or food damaged items. All proceeds from the sale will
be used to fund the New and Improved Summer Reading Program.
Genesee Community Day Cow Creek Run Forms
Community
Day is June 14 this year and if you are interested in running in the Cow
Creek Run, you can stop by the HS Office for a registration form. There
is a 5 mile course as well as a 2 mile course and forms for
early
registration are due by Thursday 5/22 at 5:00 p.m. to Nyla at her house.
Jr. High/High School News
The
following students will have a pizza party at lunch on today from
the last PRIDE Assembly in Mr. Derting's room: Hannah, Anna S., Chloe,
Cierra M., Sara M., Tessa, Taitum, Danielle, Grace, Cameron Bain, Payton
and Brooklyn.
It
is that time of year when students interested in student government can
apply for an office. Below are the requirements for an ASB position.
Forms can be picked up in the office. If you have any questions please
come see Mr. Caldwell.
Presidential candidates must be in their 6th semester (or be junior class members) to be
nominated.
Vice President must be at least in their 4th semester (or sophomore class members) to be nominated.
Chief Justice must be at least in their 4th semester (or sophomore class members) to be nominated.
Secretary must be at least in their 2nd semester (or freshman class members) to be nominated.
Treasurer must be at least in their 2nd semester (or freshman class members) to be nominated.
All
ASB nominees must have at least a 3.0 GPA to accept a nomination. Ten
signatures are required. Signatures may come from 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th,
or 12th grade students during the present school year. (Seniors do not
vote in the ASB election but they may sign candidate petitions).
Petitions due in the office on MAY 23rd, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. NO
EXCEPTIONS!

Grades 6-11 girls basketball open gym 6:00 -
8:00 p.m. Thursday. If you are playing at LCSC June 6-8, please attend
and bring a parent to sign the registration form. 6-7 graders, if there
is enough interest, we could take a junior high team to LCSC June 6-8.
Contact coach McIntosh if interested or attend open gym Thursday.
The Softball dessert awards banquet is Tuesday, May 27 at 6:00 in the multi pupose room.
Softball players please give $10 to Sydney for coaches gifts.
Baseball awards banquet is Tuesday, May 27 at 6:30 at the covered picnic area at the City Park.
The Track awards banquet is Tuesday, May 27 at the Tilleman's house.
"No One Fights Alone" wrist bands for $3 each with all proceeds going to the Funke Family for medical expenses are available in the HS office. Checks can be made out to

Genesee Community Library
requests volunteers from the Junior High/High School to help with a few
very fun, experimental projects during this summer’s reading program. If
you like kids, science and like to help, please stop by the Library or
give Connie Sobczyk a call @285-1398 by May 29th. Library hours are Mon
