Book Fair


The Book Fair is coming next week, March 4-9. This will be the last one of the year.


Youth Baseball in Genesee


If your son or daughter is interested in playing on a GENESEE Cal Ripken baseball (ages 8-12 by April 30) Babe Ruth (ages 13-15)or junior softball (grades 3-5) or senior softball (grades 6-8) team do NOT send forms directly to Moscow or the player will play on a Moscow team. The GAA (Genesee Activities Assoc.) organizes the teams and collects all of the forms to play in the Moscow League. Cal Ripken flyers were sent out last week by the GAA. Softball and Babe Ruth flyers for Genesee teams will be distributed soon. Genesee Tball and possibly pitching machine teams will be organized in May!Questions can be directed to GAA Treasurer, Tammy Stout at dtstout@frontier.com.


Enchiladas for Dinner!


Need dinner plans and don’t want to make dinner?  Virginia Monk is taking orders for the famous 4-H enchilada trays.  This is a fundraising activity which is part of her 4-H Citizenship Washington DC project.  She will be making the enchiladas this weekend March 2 and delivering them over the weekend and early next week.  A large tray is $15 and a small tray is $10.  Enchiladas are ground beef with a red sauce and they freeze well.  (Orders are paid for when delivered.)  Place your order with Virginia, or call her
home 285-1084 or email kmonk@pea-lentil.com.

 

Computers for Kids Applications


There are applications in the HS Office for Computers for Kids. The deadline to submit an application is March 31. This is a great program for students who don't have a computer at home.

WHAT:      Everyone is welcome to come drop, swap, or shop for free clothing items.  Get rid of what you can’t use and take home something you can!

Junior High and High School News  


Good luck to the Boys basketball team who plays Notus at 12:15 local time in the 1AD1 State Tournament. We have been told that the game will be broadcast on www.roundballradio.com  channel 1.

Genesee's baseball season has been cancelled due to low numbers. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The Junior High dance originally scheduled for tonight has been postponed due to the state basketball tournament. We will keep you updated on the rescheduled date.

The BPA State bus will leave bright and early at 4:30 am on Thursday, March 7.  A detailed itinerary and field trip forms will be coming on Monday.

Emma Tonn is painting a mural in the school for her Senior Project and is asking for donations of latex based white or off white paint. Emma will put a box in the HS office for you to place your donation in. Also, if you would like to make a monetary donation for the supplies Emma will need, she would really appreciate that. A send off pep assembly will be held in the gym at 9:45 this morning for the Varsity Basketball team as they leave for the State Tournament. Jazz Concert


Come one, come all to the Jazz Concert tonight at the U of I Music Building. Genesee's Jazz groups (Band, Choir and GES) will be performing in the Music Building Performance Hall along with University of Idaho's Jazz Choir 1. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Buses for students and parents or community members who wish to attend will  begin loading at 5:30 p.m. and will leave the school promptly at 5:45 p.m.

Breakfast


The Knights of Columbus invite you to come eat breakfast this Sunday, February 24 between 8:00 a.m. and Noon at the fire hall. The cost is by donation and they will serve sausage, pancakes, hash browns and eggs.

Congratulations to the Boys Basketball team who defeated Kamiah last night for the District II 1-A Division I Championship! Good luck at state which begins next Thursday, February 28 in Caldwell!

Good luck to the Boys Basketball team who play in the District Tournament at the LCSC Activity Center tonight at 8:00 against Kamiah.

There are several FFA symbols hidden around the school today. If you find them, bring them to Mr. Morrow for 10 year pin points.

There will be several FFA activities during lunch in the Commons.

Junior High and High School News  


There will be a baseball meeting during activity period today. We need to know exact numbers of players to determine our season. If you have any interest in playing baseball this season, please be sure to meet with Mr. Caldwell in the Gym Foyer.

If you are interested in track this year, please plan to meet with Mr. Caldwell in the Gym Foyer during Friday's activity period. We will discuss details of our co-op for this year.

Hoop Shoot Opportunity


The Knights of Columbus will hold a hoop shoot for ages 8-14 during the Boys home basketball game this Friday, February 1. It will be held in the Aux. Gym from halftime of the JV game through halftime of the Varsity game.
